Gracie's Sweet Sixteen was on a brisk February Saturday and her actual sixteenth birthday. The day was cold but, free of snow despite the frequent snow fall the New York area has been getting. Gracie arrived early for her private portrait session with four of her closest friends. It was cold and we were waterside but, she braved the weather to get some dock photos. The wind, although not friendly gave her stunning blue dress some gorgeous movement and allowed us to get some beautiful portraits.
After the addition of two of Gracie's cousins, we took some fun photos with her court and family before heading inside and getting ready for her big entrance. Although she was nervous, you couldn't tell. Gracie entered the room gracefully before joining her Dad for what was an emotional father daughter dance with Mom joining in at the end.
A quick dance set and buffet line later, guests were seated and Gracie's younger brother took the microphone to give a sweet speech about how much he looked up to his older sister and ended in a toast and wishing her a Happy Birthday. Gracie's Dad ended the speeches with a beautiful and emotional toast to his daughter before dancing continued.
It was a beautiful day filled with family who traveled from near and far to be a part of Gracie's special day.
